Ethnic Studies Film Series to offer film screenings

The East Carolina University Ethnic Studies Film Series will provide four film screenings in spring 2012, in keeping with the program goal of presenting diverse world views and encouraging linguistic and cultural exchange on campus.

Members of the ECU community are welcomed to join in the screenings, which take place from 6 to 9 p.m. in Bate Building 1032. Scheduled for the spring are the following:

  • Jan. 31 – “The Help,” directed by Tate Taylor. Guest introduction by Dr. Amanda Klein.
  • Feb. 28 – “A Better Life,” directed by Chris Weitz. Guest introduction by Dr. Joyce Middleton.
  • March 27 – “The Counterfeiters,” directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky. Guest introduction by Dr. Mona Russell.
  • April 17, “Departures,” directed by Vojiro Takita. Guest introduction by Dr. Su-ching Huang.
