East Carolina University offers a unique and exciting new research opportunity for students — course-based undergraduate research experiences, better known as CUREs.
Because research is so important, we want as many of our students as possible to experience it!
That’s where our CUREs come in. CUREs bring research into the classroom, allowing students to participate in real university research projects during their time in class.

Team-Based Science
CUREs aren’t just only focused on developing researchers. These courses take a team building approach to science. More and more employers are looking for scientists that can work together across disciplines to solve science’s toughest problems. By embedding team science into undergraduate courses, CUREs build versatile Pirates that ready to tackle the world’s biggest challenges.
