ECU to host fall engineering and technology fair

ECU Career Services will host the virtual 2020 Fall Engineering and Technology Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 14 through the job database called Handshake. The event is open to all ECU students and alumni.

The fair is an academically focused event for any student or alumnus interested in pursuing jobs and internships with organizations that have engineering and technology hiring needs. Employers will have group and one-on-one sessions available for students to sign up and connect with recruiters throughout the six-hour event. During these sessions, recruiters will provide information on their organization’s career opportunities.

ECU Career Services launched virtual career fairs this fall in response to COVID-19 and in accordance with ECU and state government social distancing protocols. Career Services has emphasized the preparation of students for these virtual fairs through webinars, virtual drop-ins and one-on-one virtual appointments.

“Every year ECU students are selected by companies as a result of attending one of our job fairs,” said Tom Halasz, director of ECU Career Services. “We anticipate over 90 organizations registering for the engineering and technology fair, where employers will be recruiting for full time, co-op and internship positions.”

Participating companies include Advance Auto Parts, Ashland Construction Company, BL Harbert International, BSH Home Appliances, Cisco, CRB, Danis, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Greenville Utilities, Hensel Phelps, Naval Air Systems Command, NetApp, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Nutanix, RoviSys, Siemens, Lithco Contracting LLC, Rupert Landscape, Robins & Morton, Southern Energy Management, The Branch Group and more.
