ECU Police: Be Responsible

The East Carolina University Police Department and Greenville Police Department will continue to collaborate on the Responsible Behavior Initiative (RBI) during the 2021-2022 academic semesters.

The vision for this program is to help our students better understand their roles in being responsible members of the Greenville community, whether on or off campus. The intent of this initiative is to be nonpunitive though we recognize that this solution will not be practical or reasonable in all situations. The continued partnership with GPD and ECUPD will be critical for maintaining a safe environment for our student community.

ECU Police will work closely with the Greenville Police Department to respond to nuisance calls in the community. The goal of ECU Police is to have early, positive interactions with students and community members to prevent potential nuisance issues. Informative interactions, such as face to face communication, forums, programs, and classes will be key in explaining responsible behavior decisions.
