Athletics Fiscal Sustainability Report
As you know, our campus has dealt with a variety of budget concerns over the last several years. Whenever faced with such challenges, we assemble the facts and then set a course to make the necessary adjustments as we continue to serve our students and the region. In January 2020, I, along with Jon Gilbert, Director of Athletics, charged a working group to review athletic funding, all sources and uses, with an emphasis on revenue opportunities, capital investments, and efficiencies. Attached is the working group’s report, which I have accepted. The document includes a summary of facts and a set of recommendations. I am grateful for the work of these individuals.
ECU Athletics is an integral part of our campus, the local community, and the region. I am committed to working with Jon and his team as we consider these recommendations and make difficult decisions to ensure a more sustainable model.
