“Where Soldiers Come From” film screening to be held Nov. 10

Student Veteran Services will host a screening of the award-winning documentary, “Where Soldiers Come From” from 5 – 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in Hendrix Theater in Mendenhall Student Center.

The documentary follows the lives of a group of friends from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula from pre-deployment in their Michigan hometown, deployment to Afghanistan and post-deployment.  The film is a story about the war at home, how it affects families, loved ones and communities in the United States, and how the war continues at home when the young men return from a year in combat.

The film’s Emmy award-winning director Heather Courtney and one of the film’s characters, Dominic Fredianelli, will be available for questions and answers following the screening. A reception will follow.

The event is free and open to the public.  Tickets are available at ECU Central Ticket Office.
