Best Banquet to be Jan. 23

GREENVILLE, N.C.  —   The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University will hold its 26th annual Andrew A. Best M.D. Senior Recognition Banquet Jan. 23 at the East Carolina Heart Institute at ECU for graduating minority medical students.

The event speaker will be Dr. Bradley H. Collins, assistant professor of surgery and director of pancreatic and kidney transplantation at Duke University Medical Center. The event starts at 7 p.m.

Best was Greenville’s first black physician. He died in 2005. The event is organized by the Student National Medical Association chapter at ECU.
