Open house set for Jan. 25

East Carolina University will hold an open house for the Family Therapy Clinic and Redditt House: Medical Family Therapy Research Academy from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 25.

Visitors are invited to tour the facilities and meet the faculty and graduate student interns. The clinic is located at 612 E. 10th Street in Greenville.

ECU chancellor Steve Ballard will present the Excellence in Collaboration Award for the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program, which provides services to support patients and their loved ones throughout their experiences with cancer. ECU interns at both the master and doctoral level work in the program, providing therapeutic services while learning first-hand the importance of  treating patients and their families from a biopsychosocial perspective.

The ECU Family Therapy Clinic has been a resource for families in the community for more than 20 years with an average of 2,500 people coming through the clinic’s doors each year. The clinic offers a wide range of services, including premarital services and therapy for individuals, couples or families. Additional services include medical family therapy, which supports the entire family when one family member is critically or chronically ill, and employee assistance programs for small businesses seeking to safeguard employees’ wellbeing.
