Symposium explores fund raising dynamics

A one day conference will be held Monday, Jan. 13 at the Hilton of Greenville to explore fund raising methods.

The event is sponsored by the Division of Institutional Advancement. A keynote address will be given by David Dunlop, a consultant and national speaker and a retired senior development officer for Cornell University. Dunlop will address the relational and transactional methods of fund raising as well as flexable endowment gifts.

There are two other speakers. Carol L. O’Brien, founder and principal of Carol O’Brien Associates in Durham, who will speak on managing portfolios and the role of volunteers. Laura C. Simic, Associate Vice Chancellor for development at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, will speak on funding fund raising.
