Chancellor search committee to meet with consultant and hold public forum
The Chancellor Search Committee at East Carolina University will hold a public forum and a meeting next week as it continues its work to recruit the next university chief executive.
The committee will conduct a public forum to receive comments and suggestions on the new chancellor, beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday July 12 in the Monroe Center, adjacent to the Venture Towers Building in the medical complex. Individuals who would like to sign up to speak at the forum should call 328-2662. The full committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. on July 13 to review the search process with a recruitment consultant. The meeting, which is open to the public, will be in Room 254 of Mendenhall Student Center. The committee will discuss topics including confidentiality, communication and schedules with Dr. Jan Greenwood of the A.T. Kearney Education Practice, who was selected last month to assist the panel. Dr. Richard R. Eakin, chancellor of ECU since 1987, announced in April that he will retire next year.
