ECU alumnus to lead national Boy Scouts of America
East Carolina University alumnus Wayne Brock, a music education graduate, was selected to lead the national Boy Scouts of America organization.
A graduate of South Lenoir High School, Brock was a scout in Kinston, where he received the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award and the Order of the Arrow Distinguished Service Award.
He has served in a variety of scouting leadership positions since 1972. Brock’s roles have included district executive in New Bern; a scout executive in Athens, Ga.; area director and scout executive in Orlando, Fla., Southern Region regional director; and assistant chief scout executive.
He will assume the office Sept. 1.
