Student arrested on arson charge
East Carolina University police today (Tuesday) arrested a student on a charge of first degree arson in connection with the Clement Residence Hall fire in March.
The student, Latasha Ann Isler of Grifton, lived in the room in which the fire started on March 29. The residence hall was evacuated and one student suffered minor smoke inhalation.
Ms. Isler was arrested at the ECU Police station and was released on a $15,000 bond. She is scheduled for a court appearance Wednesday morning.
