Orientation scheduled for graduate social work program in Rocky Mount
East Carolina University will hold an orientation program on Feb. 26 for individuals interested in a new off-campus master of social work program that will be offered in Rocky Mount.
The orientation will begin at 7 p.m. at the Area L AHEC Building, 1631 S. Wesleyan Blvd., in Rocky Mount.
The graduate program. offered through the Carolyn Freeze Baynes School of Social Work and Criminal Justice Studies, will have classes on Saturdays through a variety of delivery methods, including face-to-face, internet, and interactive television. Classes will meet at the Area L AHEC building and will begin in the summer session in May.
The master of social work program requires 60 hours of graduate credit to complete the degree.
Requirements for admission into the program include: A bachelorÕs degree from an accredited undergraduate institution; a minimum 2.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale in all undergraduate work and a 3.0 for the senior year; a satisfactory score on either the Miller Analogies Test or the Graduate Record Examination; and a broad-based liberal arts foundation with a minimum of six courses in basic social and behavioral science.
