Tronto named ECU auditor

GREENVILLE, NC   (July 19, 2004)   —   Stacie Tronto, a veteran auditor at East Carolina University, has been named director of internal audit at the university. Tronto has been an auditor at ECU since 1987 and interim director of internal audit since December of 2002.

Chancellor Steve Ballard, announcing her appointment, said, “Stacie Tronto is well known on campus for the high quality of her work. She was selected after a very competitive national search, and we are delighted to have her in this role.”

Tronto holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master of business administration, both from ECU. She is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Association of College and University Auditors and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

She succeeds Brenda Mills, who retired.
