Graduate programs at ECU earn top rankings

ECU’s health sciences campus shows off its spring blooms. Several master’s and doctoral programs in nursing and allied health sciences earned top spots in a new national ranking.

Two of the highest ranked programs were in the ECU College of Nursing. ECU’s master’s degree in nurse midwifery program was No. 11 out of 37 U.S. ranked programs. The nurse anesthesia doctoral program was No. 22 out of 131 ranked programs across the country. ECU’s doctor of nursing practice (DNP) program was ranked No. 74 out of 156.

ECU’s graduate programs in audiology (No. 43), occupational therapy (No. 53), physical therapy (No. 58), and speech language pathology (No. 78) — all in the ECU College of Allied Health Sciences — received new rankings this year, the first in four years. The rankings are based on surveys of peers from accredited U.S. schools.

The rankings for medical schools, which include ECU’s Brody School of Medicine, and in engineering and clinical psychology have been delayed and will be released later, according to an email from U.S. News.
