Hello there, Pirates, and seasons greetings.

I know that during these times of COVID-19, this might seem more like the season of disappointment than the holidays we are accustomed to. We all — you, me, our cherished university — have had to cancel, postpone or alter so much of what we normally do. But not everything is canceled.

With far fewer events in a normally hectic season, I hope that you are blessed to spend time, even virtual, with the ones you love. Love has not been canceled.

Let’s all use this gift of time to take a deep breath, slow down and relax. Remember: the greatest gifts can be found at home, and — on behalf of Pirate Nation — may you find comfort and joy in this season, and stay safe.
