Your guide to Pirate life: meet the ECU orientation assistants

Orientation assistants (OA) serve a vital role in helping guide new students and their families into Pirate life at East Carolina University.

Twenty-five OAs who are current students, along with three OA interns and professional staff in the ECU Office of Student Transitions, lead 10 first-year student orientation sessions and one transfer student session over the summer.

OAs share their passion for ECU while supporting new students and families, making the transition to college a fun experience. Several are returning OAs.
