Why did you choose ECU and what are some things that you love most about ECU? Purple and gold have been in my family for a long time. My mom is a Pirate teacher and always shared her pride with my sister and I growing up. So for me, it was an easy decision. I love ECU because of every alum’s Pirate pride and love for this university. There is nothing better than walking around somewhere new and hearing, “PURPLE!”
What do you remember from your own orientation that made you want to be an OA intern? During my orientation, my mom looked at me and said, “You would love doing this.” The next semester I applied, and the rest is history. I have always loved spreading my love for ECU and helping new students get involved and grow a love for their university. I want each student to take advantage of every opportunity given to them and have a great time doing so!
How will your experiences shape your approach as an intern? This is my third year working with orientation, so as an intern I hope I can be a someone that OAs lean on for support and encouragement. The OAs give everything for this university and I hope each of them knows how impactful they are on each student. Orientation assistants deserve all the love!
What do you hope incoming students and family members takeaway from orientation? One of the main takeaways is how supportive and wide of a community ECU is. Greenville loves ECU and so should everyone!
