Why did you choose ECU and what are some things that you love most about ECU? I chose ECU because of the feeling I got when I toured the school. Some things that I love most about ECU is the different opportunities I have been able to have. For example, becoming Residence Hall Association president and interning with ECU Athletics.

What do you remember from your own orientation that made you want to be an OA? On the last day of my orientation, my group and another group came together to play games with each other, it was the very last thing that we did, but it was the most memorable.

How will your experiences shape your approach as an OA? With this year being my second year as an OA, I know what to expect and how to be more prepared. Over the course of the past year, I have learned how to value what is important and how to stand up for myself. Because of these experiences, I believe I will be a more well-rounded leader.

What do you hope incoming students and family members takeaway from orientation? The big takeaway that I hope everyone has is to enjoy the moment. Yes, you might be tired, and you will be hot, but this is your only ECU orientation so have fun, meet new people, ask questions and take a lot of pictures!
