ECU OA: Evan Ball

Why did you choose ECU and what are some things that you love most about ECU? I chose ECU because of all of the career services they have to help students succeed outside of college. The thing I love the most about ECU is how social it is and how people here are not all to themselves but also want to network and make connections.

What do you remember from your own orientation that made you want to be an OA? I remember how much the OAs cared about all the incoming students, and this made me want to become an OA to make the incoming freshmen feel like they belong.

How will your experiences shape your approach as an OA? My experience shapes my approach to being an OA by allowing the things I’ve learned and experiences to be told to incoming students so that they are better prepared and more comfortable when things go wrong.

What do you hope incoming students and family members takeaway from orientation? I hope students and parents know after orientation that it’s always OK to ask for help here at ECU.
