Why did you choose ECU and what are some things that you love most about ECU?
I chose ECU due to its beautiful campus and how well the wildlife had been preserved. Not only that, but it is near the coast, which means there is an amazing breeze all day. Academically ECU also has a great range of majors and options which allow me to change majors or pursue interests as the need arises.
What do you remember from your own orientation that made you want to be an OA? I remember how lively everything was. It was professional yet relaxed and something just clicked for me. It felt right. I was so scared, and my OA took that away and replaced it with reassurance and confidence. She also answered so many of my questions and it made me feel better.
How will your experiences shape your approach as an OA? I want to be a bubble, a bubble of warmth. Seeing the way my OA’s confidence and understanding made me feel, I will do my best to share that with others.
What do you hope incoming students and family members takeaway from orientation? I hope that they can leave with the information they need to ease their worries and the excitement of change. I want them to feel at ease.
