ECU Voyages Series features TV host, biologist, wildlife conservationist Jeff Corwin

East Carolina University’s Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences will welcome biologist and wildlife conservationist Jeff Corwin to the Main Campus Student Center Ballrooms on Jan. 30 for the final event in the 18th season of the Voyages of Discovery Series.

Corwin is an Emmy award-winner known for hosting Disney Channel’s “Going Wild with Jeff Corwin.” He will round out this year’s Voyages theme of “Trailblazing Tales: Telling the Stories of our Communities” through his lecture “Tales from the Field with Jeff Corwin” and by answering questions from the audience.

For nearly three decades, Corwin has been telling stories of wildlife and nature to a global audience through his many celebrated television series on ABC, NBC, Travel Channel, Food Network, Disney Channel and Discovery. He is the creator, executive producer and host of the ABC television series “Wildlife Nation,” which explores the remarkable story of North American conservation, highlighting heroes working to save endangered species and the wilderness. The mission is to empower a diverse community with stories of environmental stewardship, conservation and the plight of imperiled wildlife.

“We cannot protect what we do not cherish, and we will not cherish what we do not know,” said Corwin.

Corwin is the author of 10 books on wildlife and nature, including “Living on the Edge: Amazing Relationships in the Natural World.” He earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in anthropology and biology from Bridgewater State University, a master’s degree in wildlife and fisheries conservation from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and has received numerous honorary doctorate degrees in education and environmental science.

His lifelong, global exploration, academic training and partnerships with top scientists allow him exclusive access to compelling stories from the battlefront of conservation. His love for adventure and discovery has fueled his lifelong career, and he strives to change the world one species at a time and leave a vital legacy for future generations.

Tickets are required for the event and available through the ECU Central Ticket Office.
