Rogers: ECU, Vidant Health to clinically integrate, create ECU-branded academic health system

Campus Community,

Today, the university begins moving toward full clinical integration with Vidant Health and the creation of a distinctive ECU-branded health system to serve the 1.4 million residents of eastern North Carolina.

As part of executing this vision for a clinically integrated and rebranded academic medical center, I have appointed Dr. Michael Waldrum, chief executive officer of Vidant Health, as dean. He will continue to serve as CEO of Vidant Health.

And I have also named Interim Dean Dr. Jason Higginson as executive dean of the Brody School of Medicine.

See the story for details of today’s announcement.
