Fall 2021 Planning Team Update to Campus

In his message to the ECU community on March 18, 2021 and only three days after stepping into his new role, Chancellor Philip Rogers made clear the general expectations for Fall 2021. He indicated a need to plan for:

“a return to campus operations for the Fall 2021 semester that will hopefully look more like the ECU experiences we expect. …  Simply put, our goal is to begin transitioning back to regular on-campus operations following state and UNC System guidelines. While safety remains our top priority, we must now also work to re-establish the wonderful sense of community that comes from our shared on-campus experience.”

Subsequently, Chancellor Rogers appointed and charged a Fall 2021 planning team to focus on related operational aspects. That team has been working with faculty, staff, students, the UNC System, and county and state health officials to plan for Fall 2021. We have engaged with well over 50 campus individuals in drafting the plan. The core elements of that plan are now in draft form and provided for your review at the Fall 2021 Planning Report to Campus webpage. There, you will find:

Please review these important draft materials and provide your feedback at this survey site. The Qualtrics survey will be open from today until Sunday, June 13.

In addition, Planning Team leaders will host an ECU Town Hall at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 7. The link to join this Town Hall is available here: Fall Semester Planning Town Hall.

As we safely return our campus to normal operations in fall 2021, we want to hear your voice in the planning process so please attend the Town Hall on Monday and complete the survey by Sunday, June 13. We appreciate your participation.
