4,000 Pirates set to graduate from East Carolina, start next chapter
A Lumbee dentist who will return to practice in his hometown, a prison sergeant, a dancer, a clinical lab scientist, a future lawyer, a graduate school-bound neuroscientist and a Gold Star daughter are among 4,000 East Carolina University graduates who will be honored Friday, May 7.
The 2021 commencement ceremony marks the return of an in-person celebration in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium after a year of change from the coronavirus pandemic. ECU will host three ceremonies May 7 to accommodate graduates and their families.
As Pirate Nation prepares for a return to normalcy, these graduates are fulfilling ECU’s mission of student success, public service and regional transformation.
