WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES

Annual international achievement awards recognize faculty members and students

East Carolina University is recognizing the accomplishments of three faculty members and two students with its annual International Achievement Awards.

Faculty members are honored for making an impact in the categories of international teaching, service and engagement, and research and creative activity. One international undergraduate and one international graduate student are recognized for demonstrating academic excellence and commitment to making a positive contribution to ECU and the Greenville community. The faculty members will each receive $500 for international travel, while each student will receive a $500 scholarship.

“ECU faculty participate in some of the most impactful teaching, research and community engagement programs in the country. Our doctors, nurses, scientists and scholars work with communities around the world to improve local health conditions, study groundwater and other ecosystem contaminants, refine coastal resource management practices, and promote cross-cultural understanding,” said Dr. Jon Rezek, assistant vice chancellor for global affairs. “Our faculty introduce our students to the world’s rich natural and culture heritage, and open their futures to a world of possibilities.”
