PIRATE GRIT ANCHORS GRADUATES

Meet six members of the ECU Class of 2020

A 71 year old who returned last fall to complete his degree, a future doctor, a born leader with his eye on the White House, a major in the U.S. Army, a doctoral student of audiology and a track star are among more than 5,000 East Carolina University spring graduates set to be honored Friday, May 8 with a virtual commencement ceremony.

The Class of 2020 — which includes the recipients of 3,860 undergraduate degrees and 1,201 graduate and doctoral degrees — are finishing their last semester at ECU through alternative delivery methods due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These graduates, no stranger to the resiliency needed during this time, have relied on Pirate grit to finish strong.
