University Advancement announces new associate vice chancellor for development
Kendra Alexander has been appointed associate vice chancellor of development at East Carolina University.
Alexander has served as interim associate vice chancellor since May 2019. Prior to this role, she worked in the ECU Alumni Association, the College of Education and the Office of Planned Giving. In her 12 years at ECU, Alexander has helped to raise more than $22 million for the university.
“I’m excited to serve in this new capacity and I truly believe in ECU’s mission of student success, public service and regional transformation,” Alexander said. “I’m inspired by our students, faculty and staff and driven to find philanthropic dollars to support their work. I look forward to working with an outstanding team that is committed to leading the university to new heights.”
“Kendra Alexander’s proven track record in fundraising, along with her wealth of connections across the university and ability to assess the strengths and needs of her team, will allow her to quickly move the needle for ECU,” said Christopher Dyba, vice chancellor for university advancement. “Ultimately that means more dollars raised for our students, faculty and greater Pirate community.”
As associate vice chancellor, Alexander will be responsible for fundraising on behalf of ECU’s East campus priorities, with a focus on increasing funding for scholarship programs.
Alexander received her bachelor’s degree from Meredith College and is a certified fund raising executive. She succeeds Griffin Lamb, who served in the associate vice chancellor for development role from October 2014 until April 2019.
