VAPING PHENOMENON
ECU vaping, e-cigarette experts weigh in
East Carolina University faculty members Dr. Joseph Lee and Dr. Eric Soule are experts on the topic of vaping and marketing of electronic cigarette products such as Juul. These products have been the topic of conversation in the national media as states like New York, Massachusetts and Michigan move to ban the sale of these products.
Lee and Soule are in the health education and promotion department in the College of Health and Human Performance. Both have conducted research on the vaping/e-cigarette industry including marketing tactics and the health effects of using the products focusing on youth and young adults.
Juul recently announced they will stop marketing the products in the United States and will not fight the removal of flavored e-cigarettes products from the market until it can be approved by federal regulators.
