Lucille Gorham Intergenerational Community Center presents Greenville’s Dancing with the Stars
The Lucille W. Gorham Inter-Generational Community Center (IGCC) will host its second annual Dancing with the Stars fundraising event on April 6 from 7-10 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Greenville.
The event – where elegance unites with community awareness and philanthropy – is a fundraiser for IGCC programs and services. Five couples will showcase their skills and talent on the dance floor for a fun and entertaining evening.
In addition, the center will honor its namesake, Lucille W. Gorham, who died in January at the age of 100, and the late Dr. Lessie Bass, the center’s founder and its first executive director.
Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased at www.ecu.edu/ecuarts or by calling the ECU Central Ticket Office at 252-328-4788.
Judges for the fundraising event include Dr. Virginia Hardy, vice chancellor for student affairs at ECU; Rodney Bullock, owner of Altitude Academy (Barber School); Dr. Johnny Smith, vice president of student development at Pitt Community College; and Kellie Mozingo, law enforcement training coordinator at PCC.
The IGCC was created in 2007 through a partnership between the west Greenville community, ECU, the City of Greenville and PCC.
This collaborative partnership has allowed the center to help individuals and families to reach their full potential through programs such as Youth Excelling for Success, IGCC Fit, Young Adult Apprenticeship Program and the Nurturing Community Garden, which benefits the community across generations.
