After two eye-opening experiences, seeing Castle Neuschwanstein in Germany and the Bergisel Ski Jump in Austria, I was ready for my next adventure with the COB Study Abroad Program.

On our second day in Austria, our sixth day of the study abroad program, I was looking forward to seeing what Swarovski Crystal World had to offer.

As our group began piling on the bus, there was some excitement over seeing Swarovski Crystal World and some excitement that we finally had a short ride on the bus.

When the bus pulled up to the Swarovski Crystal World, I had expected a big crystal building with a flair for the dramatic. Instead, I found a couple buildings, a garden and a cave. Although this was not what I had expected, the garden gave me a great impression on what I was going to find in the cave.

As I walked through the entrance of the garden, I saw very lush and beautiful greenery surrounded by the Alps.  When our group of students entered the cave, I was completely entranced by all of the crystals surrounding me.

I learned that Swarovski not only produces crystals, but they also are able to put those crystals on clothing, accessories, Christmas trees and anything that they can imagine.

The most unique fact about the Swarovski company is the entire executive board is comprised of Swarovski family members. This family-oriented company teaches people that it is possible for families to stay together even if they do not see eye to eye.

After my tour of Swarovski Crystal World, I learned that Swarovski crystals represent more than just pretty jewelry; the Swarovski name represents family and love.

Every day I spend on this trip I learn more and more about my COB peers and future colleagues in the workplace. Going on these adventures and learning outside of the classroom is an experience that I will never forget and will treasure forever.
