ECU hosts the Dance Theatre of Harlem ballet company

ECU will welcome the Dance Theatre of Harlem to campus for a special presentation during Black History Month.East Carolina University will welcome the Dance Theatre of Harlem to campus for a special presentation during Black History Month. The multi-ethnic ballet company, which celebrates African-American culture, will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, in Wright Auditorium.

“This historic and world-renowned ballet company is approaching 50 years of artistic excellence and community outreach in its mission to promote the study and appreciation of professional dance among diverse audiences,” said Dr. Kennetta Perry, associate professor of history and co-director of the African and African American Studies Program.

The event is co-sponsored by the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences African and African American Studies Program, the African and African American Student Ambassadors, ECU’s Office of Intercultural Affairs and the Old North State Medical Foundation.
