ECU to host information session on MSW degree program
East Carolina University’s School of Social Work will host an information session for people interested in earning a master of social work (MSW) degree through an extended time cohort program.
The session will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Gateway Technology Center at North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount.
The 60-credit hour, degree-focused MSW program will offer classes on Saturdays through a hybrid of delivery methods, including face-to-face and online instruction. The Rocky Mount MSW program is scheduled to begin in summer 2017.
Requirements for admission into the MSW program include: a bachelor’s degree from an accredited undergraduate institution; a minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale in all undergraduate work and a 3.0 in the senior year; a satisfactory score on either the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE); and a broad-based liberal arts foundation with a minimum of six courses in basic social and behavioral science. Applications will be due Jan. 8, 2017.
