Love-themed exhibit blooms at health sciences library

GREENVILLE, N.C.   (Feb. 7, 2013)   —   Love grows across Pitt County and at the William E. Laupus Health Sciences Library at East Carolina University this month with a collaborative love-themed exhibition of artwork by Greenville Brushstrokes members.

The show, “Laupus Library loves Greenvillle Brushstrokes,” will be held in Room 1504 on the first floor of the library Feb. 8-15. 

The show is part of a collaborative effort to hold a love-themed exhibit in galleries and exhibit spaces across the county – including ECU’s Joyner Library – all at the same time. The exhibit ties in with Valentine’s Day and aims to showcase the vibrant and growing local arts community.

An opening reception will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 at Laupus Library. Artists will be there to explain why their pieces are loved and meaningful. All levels of expertise ranging from beginner to expert will be displayed.

On east campus, four faculty artists from ECU’s School of Art & Design will display their work Feb. 8-May 15 in the Joyner Library Exhibit Gallery as part of the same community exhibition on love. They are Catherine C. Walker-Bailey, collaborating with Mamie Dixon, Susan Carol Luddeke, Punam Madhok, and Amy McIntyre.
