ECU Golf Club wins national championship

 

The East Carolina University Golf Club won the National Collegiate Club Golf Association Fall National Championship Nov. 18 at Sea Island Resort in Sea Island, Ga.

The win marked the ECU club’s third fall national championship in the past four years. ECU. Competition for the title included club sports team from universities such as Arizona, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Miami, NCSU, Ohio State, South Carolina, UNC, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Participating club members were Thomas Duty, Faheem Amod, Jonathon Hockaday, Cole Suttle, Brandon Hillgrass, Jamie Moore, Broc Weaver and Scott Tarcey.

Duty led the way for the Pirates by scoring the lowest individual score at the tournament (70, 73,+1 finish).
