First Lady Michelle Obama will speak at East Carolina University Sept. 19 in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.

The First Lady will speak about what’s at stake in the election for North Carolinians, encourage them to help organize their communities and promote voter registration and voting through GottaVote.com. And, as part of the campaign’s It Takes One effort, the First Lady will ask every supporter to help grow Obama for America’s national grassroots network.

Doors will open at 3 p.m. Remarks are expected to begin at 5:45 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are required due to limited space, and will be available to the public starting on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets will be available on the ECU campus beginning at 11 a.m. Sept. 17 at the Cynthia Lounge, Mendenhall Student Center. Supporters may also receive tickets beginning at 10 a.m. Sept. 17 at the following locations:

For members of the press, the event will be open to pre-credentialed print and broadcast correspondents and still photographers. Space is limited and members of the media interested in covering the event must send an email requesting credentials to FirstLadyPress@barackobama.com before 6 p.m. Sept. 17.

Those receiving credentials will receive a confirmation with additional logistical information via email.

The First Lady will visit North Carolina Central University in Durham before arriving in Greenville.
