Rehabilitation counselors to hold annual conference

 The Professional Association of Rehabilitation Counselors, or PARC, will hold its annual conference March 16-17 at the Islander Inn in Emerald Isle.

The theme, Spiritual and Holistic Practices for Substance Abuse and Clinical Counselors, will be addressed by presenters Calvin Mercer, PhD, professor of religious studies at ECU; Susan Vickery-Mercer, PhD, an exercise physiologist, part-time massage therapist and director of youth ministries at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church; and Meg McGrew, MA, ATR, who provides art therapy services for people with substance abuse disorders in Wilmington.

PARC is a professional association of clinical substance abuse, mental health and rehabilitation counselors and psychotherapists. Membership is open to professionals in mental health disciplines as well as counselors-in-training. Annual membership dues are $30. Student dues are $15.
