Carolina Ale House fulfills donation promise to ECU Department of Hospitality Management
Greenville’s new Carolina Ale House made good on its promise to donate 10 percent of its first week’s profits to East Carolina University’s Department of Hospitality Management.
Mindy Amerson, corporate communications officer for LM Restaurants, and Joe LoGiudice, general manager of Carolina Ale House in Greenville, presented a check for more than $8,000 to the department Oct. 27.

Lou Moshakos, president and owner of the hospitality group that manages Carolina Ale House, promised the donation when the restaurant opened for business Sept. 16.
Amerson said that LM Restaurants donates to a university, high school or community college in each community where they open a restaurant. “We know that someday these students may work in our restaurants, and we want to support an educated work force,” she said.
Robert O’Halloran, chair of ECU’s Department of Hospitality Management, expressed his gratitude for the gift. “Many students were present when the check was presented,and they were impressed by the restaurant’s corporate citizenship,” he said.
The Carolina Ale House is a family friendly, sports themed restaurant that operates in 16 locations in the Southeast.
The Department of Hospitality Management is the largest hospitality department of its kind in North Carolina and one of the largest in the Southeastern United States.
