Registration open for annual ECU Alumni Scholarship Classic

The ECU Alumni Scholarship Classic golf tournament will be held Sept. 30 at Ironwood Golf and Country Club in Greenville, with tee times at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The winning team from the tournament will represent ECU in the Acura College Alumni Team Championship, Oct. 27 – 30 at the Pinehurst Resort.
Following the game, the 19th Hole Scholarship Reception will be held in Ironwood’s Clubhouse, where trophies and prizes will be distributed.
The Pirate’s Bounty Scholarship Auction will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Hilton Greenville. The auction features more than 125 silent and live auction items including a hot air balloon ride for two, a dream vacation week in Las Vegas, a Daytona 500 NASCAR package, Boston Red Sox tickets, a family vacation at Disney, Pirates memorabilia, golf packages and a New York shopping spree.
Auction tickets are included in player packages. Non-golfers may purchase tickets in advance for $20 per person. Included in the event price are heavy hors d’oeuvres, beverages and entertainment from Scott Mueller ’96.
Golf packages are $135 and include green fee and cart, beverage service, golfer’s goody bag, and meals and snacks throughout the day provided by The Fresh Market, Carolina Ale House, Panera Bread, and Ironwood.

Proceeds will benefit East Carolina Alumni Association scholarships to deserving undergraduate students who demonstrate academic success, leadership among their peers and service to the university and/or community. The Alumni Association has awarded more than $167,000 in scholarships to 134 students in the last six years.
