College of Education hosts Clinical Teacher Conference

The East Carolina University College of Education hosted 292 clinical teachers and student teacher supervisors at the 2011 Spring Clinical Teacher Conference April 14 at the Greenville Hilton.
The event provided professional development through activities and sessions on topics such as technology, teacher leadership, instructional strategies and mentoring teaching interns. ECU faculty, local teachers and other educational specialists presented the sessions.
Vann Lassiter, the 2010-2011 Northeast Regional Teacher of the Year, provided the keynote presentation.
Clinical teachers represented Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Duplin, Edenton-Chowan, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Harnett, Hertford, Hyde, Johnston, Lenoir, Martin, Nash-Rocky Mount, Onslow, Pitt, Tyrrell, Wake, Wayne and Wilson County school systems.
The conference was presented by the Office of Professional Development and Student Outreach within the College of Education.
