ECU staff members graduate training program
East Carolina University staff members who graduated from the The Supervisor’s Toolkit: Nuts and Bolts of Facilities Supervision program hosted on campus included James Boyd (Buildings), Ernest Brannon (Buildings), Pat Horn (Buildings), Jay Wainwright (Buildings), Stan Wojcik (Buildings), Jake Isenhour (Grounds), Tommy Walston (Grounds), Ben Triplett (Housekeeping), Jackie Smith (Housekeeping), Valeria Little (Housekeeping), Pearlene Kinsey (Housekeeping), Felisha Hines (Housekeeping), Stanley Smallwood (Housekeeping), Sandra May (Housekeeping), Kevin Dorsey (Health Science Campus-Utilities), David Skinner (Health Science Campus-Utilities), Chad Faulkner (Facilities Services-Utilities), Richard Garris (Facilities Services-Utilities), Chris Phelps (Facilities Services-Utilities), Patrick Sherrod (Facilities Services-Utilities), Royce Thigpen (Facilities Services-Utilities) and Neal Thorne (Facilities Services-Utilities).
Held Jan. 24 through 28, the program was designed by the Association of Physical Plan Administrators of Universities and Colleges to train and develop supervisors in the facilities environment. Two trainers from the association’s Southeastern region – Tom Jones from Clemson University and David Schmidt from Valdosta State University – conducted the training. Modules included: Supervision – What Is It?, It’s More Than Administrivia, Communication – Let’s Talk!, If it Weren’t for the People, Motivation and Performance, Customer Service Triangle, and Leadership – Tools for Success.
Individuals from Campbell University, NCSU, UNC – Greensboro and UNC – Charlotte also attended.
