Senator Obama to visit campus
Sen. Barack Obama of Illinoiswill hold a rally Thursday evening at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum to promote his bid to become the Democratic Party’s 2008 presidential nominee.
Doors will open at 4 p.m., and the program will begin at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required and admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. No bags, signs or banners will be permitted.
About 10,000 people are expected to attend, including many residents of Greenville and Pitt County. Parking and traffic around the area of Minges Coliseum may be difficult on Thursday afternoon and evening. Limited parking will be available in the lots around Minges, Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium and the White and LeClair lots, but attendees are strongly encouraged to carpool.
