Local students to participate in health careers program June 11-15

GREENVILLE, N.C. —   Twenty rising 11th graders from 10 area high schools will participate in a health careers investigation and immersion program June 11-15 at East Carolina University.

The weeklong program gives students an opportunity to explore medicine, nursing, physical therapy, medical laboratory work and other health-related careers at ECU and Pitt County Memorial Hospital. The program includes observation of health professionals at work, seminars and workshops on academic preparation for health careers, and personal development and self-awareness activities.

The ECU Health Sciences Division sponsors the program.
