Finnish University Leaders visit ECU

GREENVILLE, NC—   A delegation from a Finnish university will visit East Carolina University Friday (Jan. 13).

The president and administrators of the University of Oulu will meet with ECU administrators and students for an 11:30 a.m. luncheon in Mendenhall Student Center, Room 254.

ECU and the University of Oulu are in the first year of a student exchange program. Nine students from Finland are at ECU this year, and six students from ECU are attending Oulu University as part of ECU’s International Scholars Program.

Michael Bassman, assistant vice chancellor and director of the University Honors Program, said he is looking forward to welcoming President Lajunan Lauri and his colleagues Friday. The delegation’s visit to Greenville is one of three to UNC institutions, including the Office of the President.
