University cancels classes, closes campus

Because of the threat posed by Hurricane Ophelia, East Carolina University classes will be canceled Wednesday and the university will be closed.

Residence and dining halls will remain open, as will the Student Recreation Center and Mendenhall Student Center. Movies and other activities will be provided for students who choose to remain on campus.

University officials will decide Wednesday when to resume normal operations.
