Neinas picked to aid ECU AD search

GREENVILLE, NC   (July 26, 2004)   —   East Carolina University has selected Charles Neinas of Boulder, Colo., to provide consulting services in its athletics director search, the university announced today (July 26).

Neinas, president of Neinas Sports Services, is a former commissioner of the Big Eight Conference, former executive director of the College Football Association and former assistant executive director of the NCAA.

Chancellor Steve Ballard said the entire AD Search Task Force was enthusiastic and positive about Neinas. “We expect Chuck Neinas to enhance our ability to attract strong candidates from across the country,” Ballard said. “Not only does he bring a wealth of experience and contacts to the table, but he also brings absolute integrity to his work.”

The task force, which is working under the umbrella of the AD Search Committee, will meet with Neinas Thursday to structure the search process, Ballard said.
