Kolasa named to committee on childhood obesity

GREENVILLE, N.C.   (Apr. 13, 2004)   —   Dr. Kathryn Kolasa, a registered dietitian and professor of family medicine at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, has been named to the North Carolina Health & Wellness Trust Fund Commission’s Study Committee on Childhood Obesity.

 

The committee will conduct public hearings and other events on childhood obesity and recommend policies, programs and legislative proposals to the Health & Wellness Trust Fund Commission to help fight obesity in children. 

Others with ECU ties on the commission are Dr. Donald Ensley, associate professor and chairman of the Department of Community Health at the School of Allied Health Sciences; Dr. Edwin Monroe, emeritus executive dean of the medical school; and Dr. Charles Willson, clinical professor and assistant dean of clinical affairs at the medical school.
