ECU reopens after Isabel
East Carolina University employees were picking up debris across campus Friday and preparing to resume classes Monday in the wake of Hurricane Isabel.
Most offices reopened Friday after closing Thursday as the storm drove north through eastern North Carolina.
Nearly 1,000 students remained in residence halls on campus, even though classes had been canceled on Wednesday afternoon for the remainder of the week.
Damage was relatively light at ECU, consisting mainly of downed trees and limbs and minor leaks in buildings.
