Judge Wynn to deliver commencement address

Judge James A. Wynn Jr., a member of the North Carolina Court of Appeals, will deliver the featured address at the 91st spring commencement at East Carolina University on May 13.

More than 2,000 degree candidates are expected to attend the ceremony, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. The public is invited. Wynn has been a judge on the appellate court since 1990, except for three months on the North Carolina Supreme Court in 1998. He has been nominated by President Clinton to a seat on the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. A native of Robersonville, Wynn holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a law degree from Marquette University in Wisconsin and a master of law degree from the University of Virginia. He was in private practice in eastern North Carolina from 1984 to 1990 and also served as a legal officer in the U.S. Navy.
