ECU announces spring enrollment

East Carolina University’s enrollment for the spring semester is 16,375, according to the registrar’s office that released the enrollment figures this week.

In the count, the number of undergraduate students declined slightly while the enrollment of graduate students rose. The total enrollment for the spring term dipped by about 200 from a year ago. Included in the 1995 spring figures are 9,440 women and 6,935 men. There are 13,433 undergraduates and 2,942 graduate students enrolled. The number of graduate students rose by 48 from last spring’s count of 2,894.

ECU opened the 1994-95 academic year last August with an enrollment of 17,570. The spring semester count is traditionally lower than the registration recorded at the fall opening.

Spring semester classes began Jan. 6.
